Agri-startup Incubation Program

The aim of this program is to provide the launch pad for incubatees who are in the expansion stage of their product/ service or have a minimum viable product (MVP). They will be strengthened with need-based infrastructure, equipment, technology, intellectual property and advice from domain experts to implement and extend their business by imparting one month training. AFBIC will facilitate and monitor the stage wise development of the startup. .

  • Selected incubatees (on the recommendation of SIC) will be provided incubation and seed stage funding as 85 percent grant of the business plan evaluation up to a maximum of INR 25 Lakhs through AFBIC for process development, technology improvement, administrative and business expansion for the scaling up of a startup.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • The recipient has to propose an innovative idea based on technology, service, processes etc. for increasing efficiency, enhanced productivity or increased remuneration in agriculture and allied sectors.
  • The recipient should have an initial business plan/ proposal with detailed financial plan for the idea they intend to pursue.
  • Agripreneurs with registered startups should give self-declaration on having received any grant for the same idea/product development.
  • Agripreneurs should not be incubated prior/ simultaneously at any other Agri-business incubation centres (KP/ R-ABI).

Selection Process:

  • Application forms will be scrutinized by the RIC committee composed of members from AFBIC IIT Kharagpur, NIAM and stakeholders.
  • Interviews will be conducted by the RIC committee for the shortlisted candidates.
  • Selected candidates upon meeting the shortlisting criteria will be eligible to join the program.
